Subject: Prednisone Withdrawl Gone Bad =(

Hi Everyone,
Second time posting on the forum, I had posted earlier about Prednisone withdrawl, I am 24 yrs old and after being on different doses of prednisone for over a year to help with my Lupus flare, my doctor finally tried tapering my dose down to get me off prednisone, well I got down to 10mg and everything went downhill from there. It started with joint aches, loss of appetite, depresion, chest pains, shortness of breath, i knew it was all part of the withdrawl so i tried to be strong and i tried putting up with it .. but I ended up in the ER one morning because i woke up and couldnt breathe right, my heart rate was at 140 and thats just from walking from the front door of the hospital to the check in counter, at the ER they gave me over 250mg of liquid prednisone through the Iv, i was admited to the hospital i stayed there about i wk and now i'm back to taking 40mg a day of prednisone =( My doctor wants me to try slowly tapering down again, but its all just so frustrating that ive been on 40mg for about 2weeks now, and im just scared to start tapering down again... I hate everything the steroids have done to my body and mind, its so frustrating, im not sure whats worse, my Lupus or the prednisone, its sad that something that is supposed to help us, seems to make us worse then the disease =(
