Tiffany, all of our adrenal hormones are made from LDL cholesterol. During your withdrawal, your body is making more LDL cholesterol because feedback from your cells is telling it that you have much less than before. This is how it's supposed to work! Also, LDL cholesterol does not promote heart disease, VLDL does, the very small particles, and triglycerides do.

For now, your body needs the LDL to keep it supplied with its natural steroid hormones to replace the missing Prednisone. If you get lucky, your cells will start using steroids more efficiently when they get used to the lower levels and you won't need as much LDL.
