Thank you Leslie & Ivy so very much for your amazing support, advise, hope & encouragement. All of the information that you passed along is helping me cope, particularily the info about the CS stored in the liver long after CS use. While the physcosis/ mania/ agitation depression is long behind us, we are left with the hippocampus damage which affects short term memory storage/placement of, leading to problems with certain other executive functions. My DH wants to resume his career - running his business which involves multitasking and problem solving (the business is shut down due to his CS induced disability) This has impacted our financial situation AND his self esteem in a huge way. It's an emotional rollercoaster ride due to his ABILITY to function normally in so many ways ......I hang on for dear life to his steady, albiet slow improvement, and, when I stop and think about it, his ENORMOUS improvement since last April.
In my research I learned that pre menopausal women are, for the most part, protected from the hippocampal/ glucorticoid damage because of estrogen production. I am happy to know this for the two of you. Ivy, I'm so very excited hear of you sucess in lowering your dose....you go girl!!
Leslie, I have a lot of your questions still to answer. I will email you directly if that's still ok.
Thank you again ladies, this has meant so much to me.
