Kimberly,

You are about the age I was when I started steroids (prednisone) on and off...and it was scary, to deal with the thought of side effects from steroids. The worries of long term side effects are real, but they mostly come from ORAL medications. The long-term ramification from inhaled medications are much less, and the BEST news, is that they ARE REVERSIBLE! So, once you are able (with the help of an allergist or pulmonologist) to lower your dose, or switch to a non-steroid inhaler or allergy medication (I prefer either singulair or accolate myself), the side effects DO GO AWAY!! It may take some time because of the length of time you have been on it, but it will happen! :)

I really hope you find some relief for your allergies..and a better medication! :)

~Ivy~
