Subject: Conclusions of Steroid Withdrawal

Well, I think I've finally come to the conclusion that the symptoms I go through every time I try to wean down below 15 mg are INEVITABLE. It sounds like most of us have experienced this at some point and have had to go through it. Ivy described it perfectly, it is like having flu symptoms only x 100 (1000 is more accurate though ha ha). The nausea, wretching, fatigue, etc etc to me is unbearable and I truly feel like I am dying when I'm going through it. I think I know the answer to this, but could ANYONE go through that AND maintain a full time job? Am I just a wimp? It sounds like I would literally have to take weeks off from work to ride it out and that just isn't an option for me. Since my endo isn't too keen on starting me on the Imuran, I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out if there are any supplements (just started taking Siberian Ginseng and B complex vitamins) to try to ease the stress on my adrenals, but not sure if this is really helping.

Out of sheer desparation at this point, I occasionally do searches online re: steroids weaning and wondered if anyone is familiar with the Marshall Protocol www.marshallprotocol.com/forum2/1917.html
It specifically addresses weaning from steroids and the use of Benicar 40 mg every 6-8 hours to "greatly" relieve symptoms as well as avoiding all forms of ingested vitamin D (food and supplements) and sun/lights. I will investigate this further!

Needless to say, I feel like I'm in a Prednisone Prison and there will never be an escape for me. Sorry if this sounds so down, just needed to vent my frustrations and hopefully get some opinions on this.
