Karen,

I know all about the Mayo Clinic...I went there for diagnosis and treatment of my GI problems/asthma issues...other then diagnosing my autonomic dysfunction and showing exactly WHERE my slow motility lies, they did NOTHING for me! They gave me a HORRIBLE wean down schedule (wanted me to drop by 2.5 mg a week) and basically told me to "suck it up". I now have a WONDERFUL rheumatologist and pulmonologist that are helping me with the steroids. I am in S. FL, so I go to the Cleveland Clinic for my pulm (who is REALLY GREAT!!). I am on 6-mp (a steroid-sparing drug) that has allowed me to go from 12.5 mg of prednisone (where I was stuck and STILL having asthma flares/fainting/POTS/nausea/vomiting) all the way down to 7 mg! I am stuck on 7 mg at this point, but I am ok with that for now. I am no longer fainting, have lost MOST of the Cushing's features and look/feel much more like ME :)

When I wean down slowly, it takes me about a week for the worst pain/fatigue to start to ease up, and about 2 weeks more for it to go away completely. When I drop quickly (like my latest 50 mg of prednisone for 5 days down to 7 mg of pred) it takes me at least 2 weeks of pain/fatigue before I even start feeling better...I am at week 2 right now and just starting to feel a bit better.

I hope you are able to find a GI near you to at least help you deal with the nausea issues...it could be from the prednisone, but it could also be a motility issue, especially since you have Crohns.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Ivy
