Karen,

I competely understand what you are going through with the steroids/confusion (the 2 seem to go hand in hand). If your body is under ANY kind of stress (physical or emotional) you should NOT wean down. Wait until you feel better before you go down any further or not only will the withdrawals be worse, you could flare up inflammation. I am glad to hear that you went back on the Imuran...when you are done weaning down on the steroids the Imuran will be MUCH easier to stop.

It is so great to have docs that you trust, and who are working in your best intrest!! I am lucky enough to FINALLY have 2 that are working WITH me, instead of against me...my pulmonologist and rheumatologist really work with my quirky body. They seem to understand that my body just can't seem to react quite like anyone else's they have seen. Hopefully, as you get down on the steroid, your muscles will come back. It does take time, though. It took me getting down on my steroid, and seeing a chiropractor 3x a week and PT 3x week for a 5 months before I was able to get out a wheelchair/walker/cane. Now I am fully ambiliatory. I make sure to walk on the treadmill every day that I am able (which is not now thanks to a chest cold). I had to up my prednisone AGAIN last night...but I only had to up it to 27 mg for the day, which is much lower then my normal bump up. I am feeling better on the upper dose for now, so I will stay on it until I feel the cold going away (I am also on antibiotics).

I am glad you are feeling comfortable on this site...it has helped me tremendously!! If there is anything else I can do, please feel free to email me on here or privately!!

Ivy
