Thank you Gemini. It is a very vivid contrast out there.

I wrote this early last week but strangely enough there was a programme on tv tonight about the Empire and the building of the Taj etc (did you see it?) - and showed photos of those literally starving to death while such lavish expense was not spared on a monument.
