I looked into the balistic vests a few years ago when I was running convoys into Bosnia during the war, but I didnt bother in the end cos I could always "borrow" the army stuff if needed and besides which you dont want to look at all military if your being stopped at check points with somone holding an AK47 to your head.

Stab proof is totaly diferent from slash proof isnt it? I know you can get the thin kevlar glove inserts for only a few quid but then again they can give you a false sense of security and they wont stop a knife tip.

Do you realy need Balistic protection? I know a few doormen and one or two have been shot at but thats mainly been people driving past with shotguns (Strengthmonster you worked in Manchester didnt you? Ever have any trouble like that? You probably remember the old "Milionares" club and the trouble there. I can tell you some scary stories about that place.)

I dont think HG1 is all that "bullet proof" anyway . Isn't it only rated upto a .38? I'dd only feel safe with somthing that could stop a .45 or at least a 9mm as there are a lot of em about. (level IIIa)
