Supposedly the planet was torn apart by gravitational forces as the result of a decaying orbit around its sun. In a recent episode, superman traveled trough time/dimension and prevented the disaster.

The amount of food would have to be measured in calories, the weight of the flash would have to be known, as well as the speed he was moving. (this is assuming we ignore things like wind resistance which are not figured into caloric formulae).

As for the spider web, why not?
