Melody, once you see your teeth straighten up, it won't even matter. But, to answer your question, it does get better, the pain goes away (at least until it's time to get adjusted). Eating becomes easier, however you probably won't want to snack as much, it's such a pain to have to brush your teeth over and aver again throughout the day. I'm into my third month now and just had my second adjustment, my teeth do hurt, but the awesome part is that I asked to see my before picture and WOW the difference is amazing!!

Hang in there!! The short amount of time you will spend in braces is nothing compared to having a picture perfect smile the rest of your life!
