My experience was negative after having braces as a young teen, and I have them as an adult to correct the resulting problems, mostly pain, but I'm seeing changes in my appearance as well. My problem was that my bite was done correctly for a child, but didn't work out so well as I grew into my adult face and jaw. You are adult-sized so your experience will be different.

If you have concerns, I encourage you to discuss them with your ortho. He or she can pay attention to things as treatment goes along.
