I have a Nance as well, and I'm a preacher. I think the difference for me is that the Nance replaced a much larger appliance so it's actually easier for me to speak with it than with the sagittal expander I had before.

I feel for you. I think my congregation and the other audiences before whom I speak are probably much more understanding than junior high students. However, I have found that my braces have given me an instant bond with a lot of our teens. They feel like I understand them.
