I am also in the process of getting braces and it has been a long process for me. I went for first meeting with the ortho in beginning of June. Then i had to get xrays done and that killed about 2 weeks. Then I had to go get molds of my teeth done in July. I wasn't able to schedule another appointment until mid-August because I had summer school which restricted the time I could go into the office. Now its near the end of August and I just had some teeth pulled and they say you have to wait a week before they can put braces on, but I'm not getting mine put on till mid-Sept. Maybe my ortho is just really busy, so I don't know..
As for monthly payments, my ortho seems to be really good about it... I can pay $230 over 21 months, so my grand total is 5000. So this is just my ortho, doubt all orthos are the same
