Join the club, Stacy. The crown may well be the trouble. I had the same trouble with inlays and now have bands on the premolars on one side.
It doesn't seem to be so much what you are eating, as whether you bite down on a bracket on one of the lower teeth. It can even happen in your sleep.
Go back to have it fixed. I doubt whether anyone will be surprised.
