My ortho wants to have the bottom implants put in during my treatment because he needs them as an anchor for elastics to move an upper canine back without compromising my last bottom molar (the only one left back there). He feels that if he uses only that molar that it might "tip forward". However, once the implants & crowns go in they don't move so you have to have the other teeth pretty much where you want them. I don't know exactly how or when he plans on doing this. Right now I only have the upper braces on to open my deep bite so I won't break off any bottom brackets when they go on. I have some minor crowding on the bottom to correct and then I guess he'll have the implants & crowns on before the elastics go on to move the upper canine. I just hope it all works out...I'm stressed out enough as it is..that last molar has a large filling and I hope it doesn't need a root canal during ortho treatment ! I'm trying hard not to think about the worst case scenario.
