My second day in braces was by far the worst, and after taking 800mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours was very tolerable! I also used wax on the brackets that were scratching the inside of my mouth, and then they didn't hurt at all either.
I must say that being so terrified before getting braces just seems so silly now that I know what it is like. I also have to say that I love my braces because I know that when it's all finished I will have teeth that match up to create a good bite, plus the added benifit of having the straight teeth that I have wanted for so long.
