I got my braces januarary of my sophmore year in high school. that was 2003. Anyways, I got my braces because i had an over bite, some crowding and crooked teeth.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed a few months before i had braces put in my mouth. I was also missing a front tooth on my bottom jaw. my ortho couldnt determine which one it was. He estimated that itd take 3 to 3.5 years to straighten my teeth, He also said that my smile wouldn't look perfect but itd look alot better.

He decided not to have a fake tooth put in to replace that missing front tooth. just a week ago when i went back to check up on my ortho told me that I'd be able to get my braces taken out if i kept wearing my rubber band on my right side by the end of the year.

at this time, my upper jaw looks perfect. i tihnk he did a great job with it, although it didnt really need much work IMO. but i still have a pretty bad overbite, my bottom jaw now shifts to the right when i open my mouth wide all the way(he told me that its normal and it happens to some people, also i am not justified or treatment or that because it doesnt phyically pain me. is that even true?) when i open my mouth and show my bottom teeth it doesnt even look centered anymore. when i bite down, my upper left jaw rests on top of the first and second premolars. and there is also a noticable 1 mm gap between my bottom left first premolar and the front tooth next to it.

ive also noticed that when i smile, my facial muscles arent even anymore, can braces do this to you? my left cheek looks higher and healthier while my right cheek sags down a little bit more....

i really dont know what to do right now, this pisses me off so much. i got braces thinking that itd help my smile look better, not its even worse, and hes telling me I'd be down a year to a year and a half early? is it possible to sue this guy and get a new ortho? im 17 and dont know much about this. I wish my parents would be more supportive. I talk to them once a few days ago about me not being happy with the results so far, and about how i wanted to see another ortho for a second opinion.

my thougts of this right now is that he screwed up my teeth and my smile and is letting me go early. he knows he screwed up and probaly cant do much to fix it. actually, i really dont know =/

ive noticed that after seeing all these changes i dont like, ive started smiling alot less... my smile wasnt half as ulgy as it is right now IMO. sigh.......
