In reply to: drrick 's message, "Re: about changing orthos" on 11:12:54 08/13/04 Fri

Dr. Rick's reply does not restore my confidence in the medical or dental establishments, but........if I were in the market for someone I could trust, I'd pick Dr. Rick just on the basis of an honest answer like this.

From a consumer's POV, I am tired of professionals in health care who don't care about their patients' health, have their own agenda, and who are unwilling to listen and explain thing in common terminology to their patients(I call them "sound bite doctors") .

My recent unhappy dental experiences make me very uncomfortable with anyone who does not practice all 3 of my guidelines for a good health care practitioner. I am pleased with my new dentist after the last one's errors in judgment and technique lost me two perfectly good molars. And I am happy with my ortho, who spent an hour reviewing my treatment with me subsequent to a periodontist foul-mouthing what she planned to do.

And, too, I think it is awfully generous of Dr. Rick to take the time to give free opinions, advice, and support to those of us who post and read here. Thankfully there are people like him--decent, caring, professionally expert--in health care. There are regrettably plenty of care-less, p sloppy or inexpert professionals out there! For a nice little expose of the dental bad guys read Dr Marvin Schissel's "The Whole Tooth"

\O/ \O/ \O/ for Dr. Rick
