Everyone here has felt the same way that you do now! I too have always been very self consious about my teeth/smile and have found it hard to smile in pictures and in front of new people. My teeth are all I think about all day long! I wish I could wake up with perfect teeth, but it's not going to happen. I got braces on 3 weeks ago and I will also need a palate expander and jaw surgery in the future. I am scared to death..and each day is different. One minute I'm happy as can be that I have my braces and the next something is poking my cheek or rubbing my lips and I'm madder than hell! My advice would be DO IT!! Everyone here knows that it is worth it and I'm sure they (including myself) will be here as a support team for you. This webstie and forum is the best thing ever. It has given me so much support and confidence, I'm sure you will find that here also. I'm 24, married with one child. Just knowing that by the time my daughter starts kindergarten I'll have beautiful teeth is such a motivator for me. I've spent my whole life being embarrased by my teeth...but after 2 years of braces, I'll have my WHOLE life with better teeth. That is what keeps me going. Good luck to you. Feel free to email if you need to chat. rodeogem@aol.com
