Hi Jack,

The spacers were the worst part of the whole ordeal for me! I was miserable and didn't eat "normal" food the whole time I had them on. Right after I got my braces, I went and ate chicken. That's how relieved I was to have the spacers out, LOL. I had 8 spacers on all my back molars. The rest of it has really been a piece of cake for me compared to the spacers.

I'm sure others are more informed about the different types of braces than I am (I have all metal traditional). There are ceramic (clear brackets), speed brackets (self litigating - fewer adjustments), invisalign (the clear trays). There's lots of good info on the archwire site about them.
