Ive been wearing a removeable palate expander for the last 2 1/2 months and I have had similar problems. I had severe pain issues for the first month that at some points made eating nearly impossible. The pain would be in certain locations of the mouth and come and then go. At a certain point, the pain was so severe I called the ortho and they told me to simply skip a turn or two until the pain went away (which it did).

Dont worry about the pain, it will get better and you will see results.
