i know there are many types of palate expanders, mine is a model called a HAAS...with mine u put a little tool in the center and push back..it's fairly easy and it gets easier the more you do it...i have a crossbite on my right side also and they are having me turn mine for about 4-5 weeks total and i think i'm going to be leaving it in for a while after. hope i've been helpful
