you know, i've had one bracket come loose in my 13 months..i've been really lucky especially with all the hard food i eat. luckily, it was on one the molars and the power chain held the bracket in place although it was loose and i was able to wait 'till my next appointment. i think it depends on which tooth with regards to how long you can wait to get it fixed.
