At my last adjustment, they removed a wire tie on the lower archwire and put on a powerchain. Over that weekend the lower tooth that was previously most rotated and has taken almost 2 years to straighten quickly began to rotate back to its preferred position. By Monday it was pretty crooked and I went in and they tied it back on with quite a bit of effort. My ortho told me that they would actually have to bond each incisor to the retainer or that would most likely happen. She also says that the gingival fiber releasing procedure is necessary for those teeth that were so rotated, but not until the braces come off but right away after the removal. I couldn't believe how fast that tooth tried to rotate back. Also I'm back in elastics full time because my bite seems to have shifted back a while. It seems like I'll have to have full time elastics for at least another month and then half time for another month. So.... here we go again and just when I thought the end might be near. ??????? oh well... sigh!
