This is how I do consultations, which is not necessariy how other docs do it. First the pt arrives and fills out al the necessary forms. Then they are shown a book of before and after pics.In the book are also the different types of braces I provide --metal,clear,lingual as well as pt testimonials. Once they are done with the book they are seated. I review the Med hx and interview the patient to determine the chief complaint and discuss other concerns they may have. THen I examine the pt.I then give the pt a mirror and we look together I point out my observations and give my tx recomendations. I then answer any questions. Then I write up the treatment options and the pt is brought to the front desk area where the office manager reviews tx cost, payment options, etc. I spend any where from 10 to 30 minutes with the patient depending on the complexity of the case and the amount of questions they have. The Office manager time depends on how many questions they have about our payment opions. The total appt time is usually in the 30 to 60 minute range.
