Definetely go to for another opinion. My initial consultation was $40 but I was really impressed with the first orthodontist I went to. My cousin went to the same orthodontist about ten years ago and I'd only heard good things about him and the other orthodontist he works with. They also had before and after pictures and we went over the pros and cons of getting braces. The orthodontist seemed very honest about every aspect (including the negative ones) of getting braces. He gave me an estimate cost, told me how it would effect my TMJ and went over the length of time I'd have to wear braces and go in for adjustments. I felt absolutely no pressure to choose him to be my orthodontist at all and that was probably the biggest thing that sold me on him!

I was pretty nervous and anxious about getting braces as I'm sure you probably are. I know it is a huge commitment of both time and money. The last thing you need is an orthodontist who can't even spend five minutes explaining things to you and answering your questions. Find an orthodontist you feel comfortable with and go for it. You deserve it!
