The great thing about this forum is that you can get a lot of opinions, then sift thru them to make your own decision.

I went with ceramic on top and metal on the bottom. My ortho did not charge more for ceramic. My tops are the only ones that show when I smile. What I was most concerned with was (1) that the ceramics, which are slightly larger than the metal brackets, would be more uncomfortable--they're not. (2) that metal braces would accentuate the slight gap I have on the right side where I have missing molars.

I am happy that I decided on ceramics for the top teeth. I really like them better. Best to you on your ortho treatment.
