You have to realize that the level of pain experienced by recipients of orthodontic treatment differs dramatically.

You will encounter people on here that experienced no pain--only some discomfort or pressure. Then, you will encounter people who were absolutely miserable.

I don't think there is anyway for an orthodontist to give you an estimation on how much pain you will experience.

But if you look on the bright side, the pain will go away, or subside greatly. And this is your first step towards that smile you've always wanted.

The day after braces are applied is usually the worst. It will be much better tomorrow.
