When I came out of surgery I had a VERY noticable gap. The OS actually made the initial 6 turns and that is all it took to keep me from venturing outside of my house.

Question to all of you with expanders...I guess I don't understand how the expander is supposed to work for you without surgery like what I had. I had an expander a year ago and the ortho I had at that time thought it would work without the surgery...he was very wrong and I experienced a terrible amount of pain by turn 7. I was 26 at the time and after that we decided not to fix my crossbite and to make things better cosmeticly. Since then I have moved out of state and my new ortho convinced me to go ahead with the surgery. I guess I am just curious what goals are going to be accomplished for you?
