Hi Katy:

When I had spacers, I called my orthodontist and left him a message stating that my spacers would be the demise of my life.

I had an expander and cried when I ate my first meal. Then I got used to it.

Then, I got braces and oh, my teeth hurt. A week later I got used to my braces as well.

Katy, it sucks having braces, but after a while you get used to it and once you begin to notice that perfect smile in development, it doesn't even matter!!

By the way if it gets too bad, call your dentist and see if he will call you in something for the pain. My dentist had braces as an adult, so he was truly sympathetic for me.
