Trust me.....it's a piece of cake...no..I'm not 16...or 26..or 36....Try 54...!!!! I should have gotten braces...the old bnd on each tooth kind years ago, but talked my parents out of it.....It wasn't "cool" like it is today to be in high school with braces..... My son, who just turned 16 last week just got his off..phase 2...after being in braces for 18 months....

Things are different here in Florida....the 2000 election comes to mind...that's what happens when people who haven't voted in 20 years decide to try it....back to the braces....I'll say half the kids in my son's high school are in braces...so it's normal..at least in South Florida to be 16 in braces....

I'm 5 months in to a 15-month teeatment...and it's really been a breeze so far....you get used to brushing alot..but that's the only real pain...be glad you'll be out of braces at 18..instead of 55..although i hope we both have a zillion years to show off those "great" smiles..

Best of luck...and remember that most of on ArchWired are much older...and wish we'd done what you're doing when we were that age....I've got 6 clear brackets..see if they will at least strat you out with tooth-colored tie wires on the top middle teeth..it's makes everything just about invisible, except for the archwire...which some orthos also offer in tooth-colored wire..!!!!
