I am with Katie as I will not discuss how "kids" are these day. I'm raising two young sons now and it is not easy but their father and I have raised them to respect others.

Katie says that others are envious of ImReallyTired being 16. Ummm you couldn't pay me enough money to be 16 again. Even though my sis and I didn't receive orthodontic treatment when we were younger that doesn't make me jealous of her. I'm just glad I can have treatment now and afford to pay for it.

I agree with the other posters about her being ungrateful about demanding the clear brackets at any cost to her parents and also demanding the braces to be off for graduation and senior pictures. That doesn't make since to me, I mean if your parents can afford treatment and they are willing to make the sacrifice spending their hard earned money on you then you need to be a little more grateful to them. If my children demanded things from their farther and I, they wouldn’t get it period. What are we saying to our children when we give in to their greed ungrateful attitudes? Well you have spoiled ungrateful adults who have a difficult time dealing with the problems that life throws your way.

Katie, IMHO, it doesn’t matter who’s paying for treatment, just be grateful that your parents are footing the bill and not you. I've said enough.

Heather
