Also, if the thing isn't causing pain, sorry about that. For some reason, I was thinking of the "habit preventer" thing to stop people from sucking their thumbs and it will prick the thumb when they put it in their mouthes. I --probably incorrectly--assumed it was something like that.

Also, you CAN still practice on your own. I don't think anyhting is stopping you from not practicing on your own. You can help train yourself from doing it, but I'm sure it's best to keep the appliance in place.
