Joann, my Walkers supposedly resided in Jefferson Co. TN in the late 1700s (Greene & Hawkins counties then). Did James Walker's will filed in 1801 mention a son named James, b. abt. 1750 & m. to a Margaret/Peggy? Wondering if your James who d. 1801 was my James' dad. My James moved his family to Madison Co. AL after 1803 & is on the next AL census there. His children were Robert, James, Anna, William, Samuel, John Davis (my gg gftr) & Margaret and would be your James' grandchildren and possibly mentioned in his will.
