Trying to discover my husband's great-great grandfather's parents names. Lewis Walker was born Nov.15th, 1830 in Franklin County, Ga. according to his Conf. Pension papers. According to some info I found on the internet he was orphaned
very young as the result of a buggy accident and lived with his grandparents. The last name of Nelms was mentioned as the family he was living with. He married in Elberton, Ga (I think) a Mary Anne Malsey Brown and wound up in Augusta, Ga at the time of the war and is buried in Magnolia Cemetery there.
Could anyone help me out? We would really appreciate it!

GGGG Grandfather John A Walker, b. 1770, died before 1850. who married Caroline Blair (??). Family history for the next 3 generations comes from Izard County, Arkansas. Hit the brick wall when trying to figure out anything before John A. Walker in 1770. Would like to know where he was born, who is father was and grandfather and where they came from. John A. Walker had a son named John A. Walker(married to Ellender Chism), who had a son named Hartwell B. Walker(married twice to Elizabeth Ann Gray and Dollie Sims), who had Solon F. Walker (married to Emmer Clementine Corbin), who had Fred H. Walker (married to Josie Mae DeBoard), father to my father, Robert L. Walker, Sr.(married to Janice Marie Carra). Hartwell died in 1901 in Fulton County, AR. Solon died in 1945 in Sedan, KS and Fred died in 1972 in Sedan, KS. Solon was born in 1872 in Izard Co., AR; Fred was born in 1901 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma Territory. Would GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY information someone may have on my ancestors supposedly from Scotland, maybe England. A lot of the information we have found after 1770 was found on the website below.

His third wife he has a son named Zachariah (or he could of been from 2nd wife). They have several children.Magadline,Avery,William, and more. The census say that he was born in Indiana and parents in Ky. but not for sure. He died in Mo. around 1888/89. His third wife,Barbara Ellen Riffet Walker, left Mo.with the youngest child and went back to her parents leaving all the other children with John's people who were Cherokee. His mother was full blood and his father was white. The children stayed with the Cherokee family for 5 years. Barbara returned with new husband and took children to Indiana.
I have a picture of John Walker and I would like to share info with anyone that is related.
Please email me at cte86005@centurytel.net
Thank You,
Judy

Searching for the ancestry of Joseph WALKER (1809-1881) and his wife Amanda STEELE (1831-1871). They married in 1848. Family tradition states that he died in 1881 in St.Louis, MO, but we have never found any evidence to support this. Possible parents of Joseph are Joseph WALKER,Sr. and Sally/Sarah JOHNSTON. Amanda's parents are possibly Daniel STEELE and NANCY ANNE SPEARS.

My Great Grandfather was Comly Walker.
His Father was Samuel Carey Walker.
In searching for Samuel Carey Walker's parents, I came across a Walker Line I'd not found before and may be the answer to your Thoms Walker question.
Lewis Walker left Wales in 1686, arrived Pa 1687 (13 months) settled in Radnor. Married: Mary Morris April 22, 1693
Moved to Tredyffrin Twp, Chester County Pa in 1705
Their children were:
Daniel: B 1694 - 1772
Elizabeth: @ 1696
Joseph: @ 1698
Hannah: @ 1700
Enoch: @1702
Abel: @ 1705
***Isaac: @ 1707/10

Isaac Married Sarah Jerman.
Their Children:
***Joseph: @ 1730
Mary: @1732
Lewis: @ 1735
Mary
Hannah
Benjamin
Azael,
Rachel
Abel
Isaac
Leah

***Joseph Married SARAH THOMAS
THEY HAD 13 CHILDRN BETWEEN @1756 AND 1785
Zillah
Isaac
Priscilla
THOMAS
joseph
Sarah
Mary
Naomi
Lewis
Joseph (2nd joseph, 1st probably died)
Enoch
William
Jesse

If the listing for these children is chronological, according to birth, this Thomas may have been born between 1763 & 1770.

If you have no indication of another "thomas" in your line, it stands to reason that he was possibly named after his mother's maiden name, which, in this case, was THOMAS.

If you have any information regarding Parents of:
Samuel Carey (Cary) Walker 1820 - 1899
Married (4th mo, 10th 1844 = June 10, 1844)
Louisa Rebecca Wells 1821 - 1892

Both sets of parents were born in Pa. Samuel and Louisa had 4 children, one of whom (Comly Walker) is my ggrandfather.
Samuel and Louisa were Quaker, buried in Friends Meeting Burial Ground, Horsham, Montgomery County, Pa. I have no lineage PRIOR to Samuel C.

I am looking for information on the parents and siblings of my ggg grandfather, Thomas Walker. He was born abt 1776 in PA, died 1831 Ohio, married Mary Shellenbarger abt 1796/97, probably in Bullskin Twp, Fayette Co PA. Mary Shellenbarger was born 1778/9, probably in (West) Hempfield Twp, Lancaster Co PA, died 1862 Ohio. Mary Shellenbarger and her family moved from (West) Hempfield, Lancaster to Bullskin Twp, Fayette Co PA in 1790 when she was only abt age 12.
Thomas Walker and Mary Shellenbarger had 12 children, 11 of which were born in Fayette Co PA. I have all of their names and dates, some spouses, and all of my direct line down from their 12th child, Joseph Walker 1826-1895.
I don't know where my Thomas Walker was born in PA. Some speculate that his father was the Thomas Walker in the 1790 census in Hempfield, Lancaster Co PA. If so, there were a lot of people living in the household, maybe siblings (2-7-4). Some think that the John Walker that married Barbara Rist was one of his brothers.
I'd appreciate any information on either my Thomas Walker or the Thomas Walker in the Hempfiled, Lancaster Co 1790 census. Thanks.

I'm looking for children and grandchildren of David Isreal Walker.
He was married to Katie Masier and they had 14 children and lived in Alva, Oklahoma during the late 1800's and early 1900's before he left his family and then evidently moved to British Columbia. Some of the children from that marriage were: Jerry, Mina, Martha, Charlie, Bill, Jasper, and Blanch.

I heard he remarried, perhaps more than once.

He died in 1948 in Cranbrook, B.C. at the age of 85 or 88.

I am interested in locating relatives from all family
members.

Looking for additional information on ancestors and descendants of George Walker, born Prince Georges County, Maryland October 17, 1758 of Francis [G1712]according to records of St. John's Church. The church is located at Broad Creek, south of Washington, D.C., between Washington and Fort Washington. The parish served a large area, and little inference can be made of where his family was living when George was born. Revolutionary Service. On February 4th, 1777, at the age of 17 and a half, George Walker enlisted as a matrosse (gunner's helper) for three years. He was in Company #6, whose officers were John Drawbridge, Captain and Michael McNemona, First Lieutenant, as it stood at Valley Forge June 4, 1778. Roby Day wrote that George was in two engagements; one the battle of Germantown, the other not recalled...", possibly Brandywine. On 15 July 1780 a "George Walker is included on the muster list...as returned by Col. Archibald Orme of the Montgomery County Middle Battalion...[and] is listed as being a member of the '6th Company, Class No. 6' of the above Battalion. Marriage. After December 9, 1780 , at the age of 21, he married Ann Martha Bryan Gray and moved to Mountain View (Purdum) where he resided until his death. "What is now the Smith farm was the older Walker homestead and on this farm he and his wife are buried." George Walker's religious conversion, and other details of his life, were provided in a lengthy obituary which appeared in The Methodist Magazine in June, 1827. George Walker left a will (1826 - 3-20-1827; Montg. Co. Wills O:3, page 318) in which he named his wife Ann Martha and left everything to her; will also mentions daughter Mary. George and Ann Martha Walker had seven children. Listed in Census of 1790 as living with 1 male under 16, 4 females and 1 slave in Montgomery County in Census of 1790. The Census of 1800 for District 1, Montgomery County, lists, in addition to the parents, a male and female in each of the age ranges 16-26, 10-16 and 0-10. Excluded from the census list would be Elizabeth, married two years before. In 1790 he was recorded living with 1 male 1790-1800, 1 male 1784-1790, 1 male 1774-1784, 1 male 1755-1774; 1 female 1790-1800, 1 female 1784-1790, 1 female 1774-1784, 1 female 1755-1774; No slaves. Possibly same George Walker, b. G1760. District (1) in 1800. Age 26-45 (b. 1755-1774). With Female 26-45.(b. 1755-1774) m. not later than 1783, therefore he was born not later than 1763. (Census of 1800) Same George Walker, b. G1760 (before 1765), aged over 45 with wife over 45; [and recorded adjacent to William S. Beall] with 1 male and 1 female 16-25, and 1 male and 1 female 10-16 and no slaves on p. 318, Census of 1810, Montgomery Co (Russell/Census 1810)
1. Elizabeth Ellen , 1780, m. William Simpson Beall. (+)
2. Mary, b. G1782 (+)
3. John, b G1784 (+)
4. Ann, b. G1786 (+)
5. George Bryan, born about 1792. m. Margaret "Peggy" Boyer (+)
6. Lydia, b. G1794 (+)
7. Nathan, born Oct 20, 1795 (+).
Probably same George Walker, b. G1760 before 1774, living with 1 male under 16, 4 females and 1 slave in Montgomery County in 1790.
1. female = Elizabeth Ellen, b. 1780
2. female = Mary, b. G1782
3. male under 16, b. 1774-1790 = John, b. G1784
4. female = Ann, b. G1786
5. female = unknown, b. before 1790

She was born in Indiana or Tennesee on November 17,1820, and died on March 25, 1900, near Pella, Iowa. She was 79. The family rumor is that she was Cherokee, and I would love to know for sure. I would be proud if she were. My Mothers family are all gone, and there is no one left to ask. My Mother was born 4 years after Julia died, so she never saw her, but I have a charcoal drawing of her taken from a TinType, and she certainly looks Native American. Her Father was a native of Kentucky, and her Mother a native of Tennesee. Someone out there know of her? Please help!!!!

I am searching for descendants of William S. Walker of Limestone Co, AL. I know there were many of them in Irving, Texas and hope to make contact with some of them. My ggrandmother was Nellie Verona Walker b ca 1882. Her sister was Rutha Walker b ca 1880. I know there was a Walker's Grocery in Irving, Texas owned by some of my relatives. I wish to share genealogy information.
