Need to find parents of Alex W. Walker. He was born about 1860. He married Lavinia Taylor on Dec. 25, 1874. He is thought to be born around Simpson county Mississippi and he and his Siblings may have been adopted.
My E-Mail address is FloydBarbGrisham@peoplepc.com

I have Mississippi-Simpson County roots. I am from a BIG line of Walker's. Some of the names that I have found through my research are Edmond, Edward, Eddie, Dan, William, Louvenia (sp),Cornelia.
I've traced my history back to Slavery.
I know that my great grandfather married 3 times, with children from 2 of the marriages. I still reside in Mississippi and get with known family members for reunions.
If you are interested in hearing more, please write soon.

Maybe a distant cousin,

Shirley

I have been tracing my great great grandmother. Her maiden name was La Vina Taylor. Her name is spelled Levenia on her marriage certificate from 1878. She married Perry Walker who was born in Alabama. they married in tallahatchie, Mississippi. Our family stories describe her as a native woman, long straight black hair, heavy drinker and very strong and mean. they had 12 children but only 9 living in the 1920 census. If anything sounds similar in your information, please let me know.
