Did the authors write anything about Fischer's life
>after match? Did they spoke with Harri Sneider and
>petra Dautov?

Harrie and Makarov are mentioned in the book but Petra Dautov is completely ignored.
But were not the Western ppl uninformed about the Soviet world too?

There was one fundamental difference between the Soviet Union and the west and that was freedom of press.
Take any American movie about Russia or Soviet movie
about the USA and u will be very amazed with very
stupid mistakes.

Yes, it must be very annoying and we here in Western Europe also experience Hollywood superficial view on the world.
I also have no idea. Why?

He disagreed with the championship regulation.
???How can they do that? And why? I know that all
Soviet players hated Karpov, but with Spassky it was
ok.

Spasski feared Soviet grandmasters would betray his opening preparations to Fischer, but it’s quit possible his fear was unfounded.
Melik-Karamov, who made a film about World chess
champions, confirmed that there was such a campaign.

According to this book there was no press campaign. During the match the reporting in the Soviet press was very sober. They wanted to avoid the idea it of an ideological clash. At the same time the Olympic games were going on and the Soviet successes got all the attention.
Did they publish "critical" or "dirty" articles? It is
not the same thing.

Believe me, if a “dirty” article makes money and it can be published without juridical consequences it will be published in the Western press. With his strange behaviour Fischer made a perfect victim and no conspiracy is required for “dirty” articles. People like to read about a crazy chess champion. It’s lifts up their own untalented life.
