Date Posted: 04:53:00 11/20/03 Thu As so far nobody has mentioned it, I thought it best that I did. As a lifelong fan of United I can't for the life of me imagine why on earth the powers that be have allowed the new ground to be called the Westgate Interactive Stadium. Well okay maybe that's a little short sighted of me: it will be something to do with the fact that they are the clubs main sponsors! My problem is that this was a unique opportunity to call the ground 'Stanley Park' and the amount of publicity the club would get out of that, especially if they intend to have their opening game against Everton! It's not inconceivable that the stadium could be called something like, 'The Westgate Interactive Stanley Park Stadium' a bit of a mouthful granted, but it would appease both sides. I think it is fair to say that Westgate won't always be their sponsors, so with that in mind it should be given a little bit of identity itself at least. How about that then Frank? Any chance of running a poll to see what others think? And how about a reply from Westgate themselves? [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
