Subject: seeking information

Hello!

I am writing in search of information about the possibility of Zoroastrianism rituals being held online. I am a Ph.D. student in culture and communication, and my area of 'expertise,' if you will, is media and religion. Currently, I am working on my dissertation, which pertains to online ritual. As one who was brought up in a very traditional, Catholic tradition, I have been genuinely fascinated and excited about the possibilities this new medium of communication holds for our practices and ideas of religion. I have chosen this component of religion--that is, worship and ritual--and its manifestations in the online environment to study for my dissertation work because I think it is a very critical component of our culture--especially as religious plurality continues to abound alongside the influence that the Internet has in our culture.

I am seeking examples of religious ritual online, as well as the experiences of those who participate in these rituals--regardless of the faith tradition. I am searching all kinds of religious web sites, bulletin boards, and chat rooms for anyone who might be able to point me the right direction or who would be willing to speak to me (online interviews) regarding their experiences of religious ritual online. Naturally, I assure you, any information that I receive would be kept anonymous--to ensure confidentiality and privacy--and I approach all information with the highest respect.

If anyone is in any way able to assist me in this matter, I would greatly appreciate it. Additionally, if anyone would be willing to speak with me about their experiences, please feel free to contact me via e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you, and I thank you very much for your time and attention in this matter. I sincerely hope I have not offended anyone by making this posting, and if I have, I apologize--no disrespect intended.
