Well, It was nice to see DJ LIVE DOG respond to Mitches question. Too bad he is dead wrong! Our voicetacked djs here at CC do everything you claim they don't do. We feed our jocks local info on a daily basis. They solicit for winners, and are able to take live local callers when giving prizes away (and playback on air). They talk about concerts that were in town the night before (because they have seen the same show in a different city). We always give out our phone #s, and in some cases even forward our request lines to where ever the jock is. And they always mention who is up next! Our trackers always talk about what happened on the morning show that day (in some cases before their shift), or even what someone else on the staff is doing later on.

As for the "we" "our" thing, even live local jocks will use both those words when talking about promotions. Don't misunderstand, I'm not a fan of automating, but it is the future. And it is one of my jobs here at CC to make the voicetracks and automated hours sound as live and local as possible. I happen to take pride in that work. Why don't you try listening to Randi West or Scott Tyler on KISS or ZHT, and tell me you can really tell they is not here.
