I think it's pathetic. In other markets, niche stations seem to accept their position and stick with their roots. In Salt Lake, we may as well have three FM stations: an easy listening, a top 40, and a country; nothing else lasts longer than a year or two.

I listened to the breeze religiously for many years (despite being ribbed by my friends). As they gradually turned into FM100, I bailed. Traveling around, I have heard many sister "Smooth Jazz" stations (is that a Capitol thing? I've always wondered what the relationship is) in places like Baltimore, Buffalo, and San Diego, and Phoenix; they've all stuck with contemporary jazz and it was great to hear again. Phoenix's Coyote is especially good.

Unfortunately, us musical eclectics don't have much of a radio home here in Utah.
