The objective is to develop new field tests in other towns. Sèvres, October 10th, 2000 - Six months after its commercial launch in Tours, MONEO E-purse has a strong success with the consumers. MONEO is the European E-purse which has the best use level. It is used for transport, for parking, or for small purchases under 100 FF. --------------------------------------------------- The French banks (unified in the SEME) decided to develop the E-purse project in other towns : Brest, Morlaix, Quimper from nov 4th 2000, Montpellier in March 2001, Bordeaux and Lyon from summer 2001. To support this MONEO E-purse deployment in the next few months, XIRING received an order of 100 000 personal readers. After this field test success, MONEO and MODEUS (contactless E-purse) entered into an agreement last July 25th to create an universal E-purse. This one will combine the e-money and the cash dispenser technology aspects. Due to its successful experience with MONEO and MODEUS, XIRING remains the key partner for this alliance. XIRING goes on developing and selling its personal reader in order to support the deployment of this new universal Epurse. ---------------------------------------------------- Thanks to its design and its ergonomics, XIRING reader will be one success key element for the new MONEO-MODEUS E-purse.
