Having worked in education (primarily special ed) for many year I know, only too well, the frustrations or families (and the minority of dedicated staff), the lack or professionalism, the lack of caring and so much more that's rampant in the educational system, at least in NY state!!!
It takes constant badgering and lots of hard work to enact changes but they can be made. Sometimes you have to be a
bi--ch in order to get what's needed for your child, sad as that is to say. However parents know what's best for their children and a caring, loving, involved mom like you will never give up on getting her child the appropriate education and services he requires. Best of luck - if there's any way I can help, letter writing, etc. just "say the word".
