You are not alone with A Perfect World. I LOVE that movie and think it's one of Eastwood's best directorial films. I have never understood why this film wasn't better received. It does have a lot of heart, especially the scenes where Costner is fending his jailbreak partner off of the kid. I thought it was also pretty ironic that Costner is trying to teach the kid right and wrong and how to live a fulfilling life when he was running from the law himself. It was a great commentary on life's contradictions. Awesome film.

As for other films, The Devil's Rejects flopped at the box office but was easily the best horror movie of the year. I received it as an early Christmas present and it has one of the most extensive making of documentaries I have ever seen (TWO AND A HALF HOURS!!!)

I also really liked Bandits with Billy Bob Thornton, Bruce Willis and Cate Blanchett. Friggin' hysterical!

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind was tragically overlooked. I think it proved that George Clooney is not a one-trick pretty boy. He's a great director and it also allowed Sam Rockwell to tear up the screen.

It's also funny that Shawshank Redemption and Office Space were total disasters at the box office but finally went on to become big successes thanks to video. Those WOULD be two tragically underrated films but thankfully found their audiences.
