As far as my underrated films, here are a few:

"A Perfect World". I seem to be the only person I know who really liked this film. I found it to be very touching and well-acted. One of Kevin Costner's better parts.

"The People Under the Stairs" - This is what a "popcorn movie" SHOULD be. Sure it was cheezy... sure it was goofy at times... but it was fun and full of adrenaline. It's also kind of funny seeing what Ving Rhames looked like at the beginning of his career.

"Frailty" was already mentioned. A truly underrated flick.

I want to point out "Heat" as well, since it flopped pretty hard at the box-office. However, I think it's earned a certain amount of respect and appreciation since then.

"Amazing Stories - Book 1" - A t.v. movie, but I believe it's the first movie that made me cry. It's a great World War 2 story of male-bonding.

"The Burbs" - one of my all-time favorite comedies. I love how it was filmed with some creative cinematography and overdone scenarios. It's probably the only comedy role I've truly enjoyed Tom Hanks in.

I remember seeing "Fargo" for the first time, and thinking that I had found this secret but FANTASTIC little movie. I felt it was truly underrated until suddenly... many months later... The Oscars recognized the film in a big way.

I'm sure I'll think of some more later.
