great immoral power? jesus christ dude we're a country, not the world's daddy. You guys can't be so hypocritical. What exactly are you saying? there's no connection between how much we use and how much they get. the water we don't use just stays in the reservoirs. time for some facts, maggie (i really wish you could get these on your own). 97% of the world's water is locked in salinity and can't be used. of the three percent remaining, two thirds is frozen, leaving 1 third of it as fresh, liquid water. That is enough for every country to live like americans, especially if they build reservoirs and dams to catch rainwater. And every country has the money to build these dams. India is a perfect example. Their pipes were leaking (which accounts for about a quarter of the loss of water in water systems outside the 1st world where pipes are WELL KEPT BY DECENT GOVERNMENTS TO KEEP THEIR PEOPLE ALIVE) and their system was draining the water table, so they reverted to the ancient Indian method of local raincatching dams, and now their water situation is improving drastically. Its not that there's no water left, its that too many governments just don't care what kind of lifestyle their people have. And i'd like to see how americans contaminate the freshwater systems of other countries. I would really appreciate some facts about that, maggie, because it seemed to me from my research of National Geographic's water issue to yell at you for being stupid and every other thing i've heard about it, that their water was contaminated BECAUSE THEY SHIT IN IT! what are you saying we do, bring over our refuse and dump it in their rivers? get off it hippie, and get some actual information before bitching about something. It's fine to be concerned for the water crisis of the third world, but instead of suggesting that the solution is to stop taking bubble baths, maybe you should say "wow, those countries should get their shit together and build a system." it doesn't require much effort, and if the government of that country can't keep their people drinking clean water then maybe that government shouldn't be there. You people are all so critical about America. has it occured to any of you that we have the world's best government other than, say, scandinavia and holland? why are you so rebellious against the USA? you all play integral roles in everything that you criticize it for, and nothing is ever anyone else's fault. I doubt your intelligence, maggie, from the things that you say. And this is probably going to be the last time i counter one of the retarded hippie things that you say with something called the truth. believe it or not its possible to be an intelligent and thoughtful person and stil l be patriotic to america, without approving everything theey do. its a whole lot better than calling the horrible tyranical monsters running everything else the victim and us the murderer. You lose so much credibility by saying things like that. The discrepancy in lifestyle is due to their incompetence, not our evil. I give up. I will no longer make any argument against the things you say. I just leave you to your completely misinformed opinions and unwillingness to actually know whats gonig on in the world. I weep for humanity if you represent the future.
