I emailed the following to tellus@kerry.com and am posting it here (the Kerry board) in the hopes that it further increases the chance that it will be viewed by someone who can call it to the attention of those have the ability to impliment it if possible and desirable.

Too the point!

If Senator Kerry wishes to win the election, there are very few ways he can overcome the Bush-Chaney propaganda machine with all it's lies and deception. Repetitiveness even when they are lies works and they have been successful with the public.

I doubt that the money spent on the 30 second spots is well spent money. All that is happening is the two sides trade blows. Tit for Tat and the Bush-Chaney machine is better at it - they have a natural ability to use innuendo, deceit and lies and come across with sincerity.

I believe there is at this late date only ONE mechanism that can work and work overnight and give Kerry the election possibly by a margin that at this time seems impossible.

PRESIDENT CLINTON

Yes I am aware he is recovering - which means no traveling etc - not necessary.

If he will agree to do a PRIME TIME or there abouts NATION-WIDE BROADCAST of 20-30 minutes with a HEART to HEART (bedside-fireside-whatever) talk to the American People as to why he believes this election is so important to the nation and why he believes John Kerry is the man to take us forward SAFELY.

He should explain to the nation that Iraq was a huge diversion in both human and monetary resources from the real terrorists and that it will take a NEW PRESIDENT with insight and one that has not alienated all our traditional allies to attempt to clean up the quagmire that was instigated by Bush at the wrong time.

Homeland Security - explain how it is way under funded due to the expenditure of resources in Iraq. How there is not a sufficient amount of Air Marshals due to lack of monetary resources. How our Ports and all other means of public transportation are vulnerable because this president has failed to see that adequate resources are available. He could bring up the Department of Homeland Securities own report issued today by their own inspector general on how there still is no centralized list of terror suspects and how the report accuses the Department of not doing it's job. How cities around the country are trying to deal with the additional security required after 9/11 without adequate federal funds and still remain solvent, with a pledge that John Kerry will put our DOMESTIC security first.

He should then go to current Domestic issues and cover such topics as:

What it will mean to the country when the next President will in all probability have the ability to appoint 2-4 Supreme Court Justices

He should DEFINITELY respond to the huge national deficit of the Bush Administration and how that is money that our Children and their Children will have to pay back - WE have borrowed that money from future generations without their permission! Explain how the tax cuts with the huge majority going to the wealthy is borrowed money that the nation doesn't have. How this president has increased the national debt by 1400 billion dollars (?) since taking office more then any prior President and up until President Regain's term I believe more then all the prior American Presidents combined (?) We are borrowing money from our children and even our children's children for tax cuts with the huge majority of those cuts not going to the Americans who need them the most and who would be the most likely to spent the $ but to the elite, the very wealthiest to whom it makes little difference and who are unlikely to spend any more then they already do as they have sufficient to buy all that they wish anyways.

Healthcare issues - how many more Americans are now uninsured since Bush took office How the Bush administration LIEDd to Congress about the cost of the so called prescription drug addition to Medicare and how it is a contract that is meant to benefit BIG BUSINESS. How one actuarial in the Dept of Health was threatened with termination if he released the actual cost data. How that bill forbids the federal government with even negotiating prices with the drug companies. The Bush administrations EXCUSES for forbidding the importation of Drugs from Canada by seniors who are sometimes forced to choose between mediation or food. Briefly what John Kerry will attempt to do about these issues.

Stem Cell Research and potentially what it can mean to the what it can mean to the country as a whole - especially the boomers. John Kerry's position vs. Bush's.

He should once again reiterate that unlike Bush - that Kerry believes this is a secular nation and regardless of personal belief's, a women's right to choose should remain the law of the land - which is unlikely if Bush is reelected.

Social Security what it means and why it needs to be protected and what of Bush's pledge in the 2000 election to protect those sacred funds held in trust.

JOBS - Bush keeps telling us his tax cuts are working the economy is turning around yet he is the first president in 75 years to finish a term with a net job loss of ###### at the end of his term. Bush blames it on an inherited recession and 9/11 yet every other previous President managed to create jobs and they had such things to deal with as World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, severe inflation and numerous recessions yet none of them had a net job loss at the end of their terms..

GUN CONTROL - of the belief that Americans do have the right to own Arms but that does not mean that assault rifles and 50 caliber weapons should be legal and because Bush failed to ask Congress to renew the (Brady?) legislation, once again the criminals will have the ability to acquire weapons that OUTGUN the police. No legitimate hunter or sportsman needs an assault rifle or a 50 cal cannon to enjoy their sport!

Other topics I may have omitted but not too many - Just the main issues - conveyed in a sincere heart to heart manner - a talk to the nation from one who has been in the SEAT and who truly believes that John Kerry would become a leader for a SAFER and more Prosperous America.

SPEND THE MONEY Campaign money or if legal DNC money get it somewhere and air it prime time with some lead in spots aired to let the nation know that President Clinton though recovering and unable to travel has decided he must speak out to the nation on this upcoming election.

At the end he must push Americans to take the time to VOTE - in this election which is perhaps one of the most important to EVER for our nation.

President Clinton is articulate, statesmanlike and is probably the only single person who could swing the election with a significant portion of those who have not ABSOLUTELY made up their mind.

I hope that this email gets the sufficient attention of whatever Kerry volunteer initially reads it to take the time and expend the effort to get it to someone with the ability to present it to Senator Kerry or one of his MANY senior campaign consultants for consideration - I truly believe THAT THIS IS HIS LAST HOPE OF OVERTAKING BUSH with a significant enough percentage of the voting populace to win the election!

[> Subject: ummmm seems to me at least here in Utah Clinton is the LAST person Kerry wants publically supporting him. Just a local perspective and nothing against your fine post, but Clinton would make most of the wafflers around here RUN to vote for Bush. Just my lowly opinion, YMMV
