Title: Book need buyers too.

Yes and no, it depends on where and who you sell to if it makes the stock price rise or fall. If you sell to a shorter and that shorter uses it to cover his short and takes a profit on this sale, this takes value directly away from the stock. Nobody “holds” the stock after this sale. If you sell to a long and make a profit, this generally adds value to the stock, as the new long will want to hold the stock until the price rises so he can profit. But if too many people sell, regardless of the gains or losses, the stock price will fall. Supply and demand, there has to be buyers to make the price go up too. People have to hold the stock to decrease supply.

The price movement in regard to the lead up to any announcement is the critical factor, the announcement becomes secondary. -- the announcement becomes secondary -- (NT)ERG--re SanFran--Globalhelp29/09/03 10:06:34am
