When I hear the word, I picture somebody drawling, "I didn't go to no high school and I'm proud of it. Now get out of my dang town". :)

Either that or people out of their element(The Beverly Hillbilly type).

I don't think it has anything to do with whether a person went to college. I suppose we don't picture cities when we hear the word, but that's risky too. I grew up in the country and it became a city. In the exact same place where the cows and dairy farms are now stands superkmart, superwalmart, and superstopandshop. It's risky to think that things will stay the same.

Besides, a lot of large cities have more crime and higher dropout rates. Living in a city doesn't make a person automatically "sophisticated" any more than living in the country makes one a hick.
